I recently purchased a kit of G.Skill Flare X5 (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-FX5) that is marketed as optimized for AMD systems. However, I'm hoping to use it with my Intel setup which includes a Z790 MSI MPG Carbon motherboard and an i9-14900K processor. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version. I installed the RAM in the A2/B2 slots, but I'm having a problem with one of the sticks—it will not post. The other stick works fine in any configuration, but this specific one just won't cooperate. I've never encountered faulty RAM right out of the box before. Is this becoming a common issue?

It's definitely possible that you received a defective stick. It can happen, surprisingly often these days. First time seeing a kit fail out of the box? You're not alone—it does occur sometimes.
Try pulling the CMOS battery to reset the memory settings to default. Sometimes that can help with compatibility issues. Hope you get it sorted!
