Will I be Charged for Internet Traffic from Azure Palo Alto Firewall?

I'm looking for information about egress billing related to our setup in Azure. We have a Palo Alto Firewall (FW) that we're planning to use for all our offices to access resources in Azure, and we're also routing all web traffic through this firewall. Additionally, we intend to direct all VPN users through the Azure Palo Alto Firewall to browse the web. My main question is whether we'll be billed for the traffic coming from users going out to the internet through the Azure Palo Alto Firewall.

Absolutely, you will incur charges for outbound traffic. However, calculating exact costs can be tricky without knowing specific browsing patterns and user volume. For budgeting, you could use the $0.087 per GB rate as a worst-case scenario, especially if you're estimating under 10 TB monthly. But if your usage falls under service endpoints, the routing and pricing may differ. It's good to plan for that potential variance in costs.

Yes, you will be charged for that traffic. It's a straightforward answer but keep in mind that the actual amounts can vary based on user activity. If you're looking for exact figures, it depends on how much data is being sent out. Here’s a rough estimate: if you stay under 10 TB per month, you're looking at about $0.087 per GB of egress traffic, according to Azure's pricing. Check out their pricing page for details. Just remember that if your traffic uses service endpoints, it could be priced differently, especially for high bandwidth situations like storage accounts.
