Will my i5-11400F hold back the performance of a 5080 graphics card?

I just upgraded to a 5080 from my previous 6700 XT and I know I need to get a new PSU too. I'm curious about how much my current CPU, the i5-11400F, might bottleneck the performance of the 5080. I'm hoping to delay upgrading my CPU for a bit since I'll likely need to replace the motherboard and RAM if I do.

If you're looking for a quick fix, selling the i5 and buying a used i7 could give you a nice boost. It's not a huge upgrade, but it's cheaper than a full overhaul.

That sounds like a reasonable plan. I'm definitely considering it.

You might want to consider returning the 5080 and instead investing in a 5070 Ti with an i7 setup. It'll cost around $1360 for a nice upgrade including a motherboard and RAM, and overall give you a better gaming experience.

Yeah, it might hold you back a bit, but you'll still notice a big performance jump from the 6700 XT. Just expect some minor bottlenecking.
