Hey everyone! I've got an MSI Pro B650 motherboard and I'm curious about its compatibility with future CPUs and GPUs. I recently bought a setup with an AMD 9800X3D and a 9070 XT, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to upgrade my components as new technologies come out. I've heard some rumors that AMD might be discontinuing the B650 chipset, and I'm not sure how that affects my upgrade options going forward. Also, with the next generation AM6 expected around 2027, will I need to replace my entire motherboard to stay current, or can I stick with what I have? I appreciate any insights you can offer. Thanks!

You're good to go with any future AM5 CPUs from AMD as long as you update your BIOS when you install a new CPU. MSI usually provides that support, but it might be a bit slower compared to their 800 series boards. Just keep in mind you will need a new motherboard for AM6 CPUs when the time comes!
