Will My Ryzen 7 3700X Hold Back My New RX 7700XT?

Hey everyone! I'm coming from a 2060 Super, which has served me well for about five years, but it's starting to fail. I just bought an RX 7700XT, but I'm sticking to my Ryzen 7 3700X for now since it still performs well. I usually game at 1080p on a 72Hz monitor, and I'm worried about potential bottlenecking. From what I've read, the 3700X should handle higher graphics settings without issues. What do you think?

Most games should run around 72fps on the 3700X, matching your monitor's refresh rate. If you find you’re not maxing out GPU usage at 72fps, then it’s likely your monitor that's the limiting factor.

Ok, thank you very much! Then I will try to get a better monitor in 1440p with a high refresh rate.

At 1080p, it might experience a slight bottleneck. Have you thought about getting a 9060XT 16GB instead? Also, consider upgrading to at least a 1080p 144Hz monitor when you can.

You can definitely test it out and see how it performs. Generally, bottlenecks don’t damage anything, so give it a shot!
