If I've been using my phone and backed it up to iCloud for a week, but then I restore my phone to an older backup from 2021, will my recent iCloud data download and merge with the old backup? Or will the older backup completely overwrite the data stored in iCloud? I'm asking because my phone got stolen, and I didn't have an iCloud backup. My latest backup from 2024 was corrupted, so I restored to an old backup from 2021, but I've used the phone for a week since then and initiated an iCloud backup. I think I have now fixed the corrupted backup, so I'm considering restoring my phone to that 2024 backup without losing the texts and data I've accumulated this past week.

When you restore from that old 2021 backup, it will overwrite everything on your phone, including the recent iCloud data you backed up. Essentially, your phone will revert to how it was back when that old backup was made, and any new data from the last week will be lost.
So, there's no way to merge the data? I was really hoping to keep my recent texts!
