Will This Build Handle 1080p Gaming at 60FPS?

I'm putting together a gaming rig with an MSI B450m motherboard, an RTX 5060 graphics card, and a Ryzen 5 4500 CPU, which I might upgrade later to a Ryzen 5 5600. I've got 16GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz. I plan to play some heavy hitters like Cyberpunk 2077 and Where Winds Meet. By the way, I just got my hands on a 9060 XT 16GB! How well do you think this setup will perform for 1080p at 60FPS?

You'll be okay at 1080p! My laptop has a 3050 Ti and handles 2077 at 60 FPS easily. 1080p isn’t too demanding anymore!

You'd actually be better off focusing on a solid CPU upgrade rather than pushing for a super strong GPU. A B550 or X570 board would give you more options down the line, especially if you switch to a 5700X later on.

What about the graphics? I'm rocking a 1660 Ti currently, would that suffice?

Honestly, I’d recommend sticking with the 9060 XT 16GB. The 5060 is going to struggle on your PCIE 3.0 setup, losing a lot of performance compared to what it could achieve elsewhere.

I totally get that, but I just saw a local deal for the 9060 and it sold out in minutes. It's kind of pricey to buy without discounts.

It's not gonna be great. The Ryzen 4500 has low L3 cache and won’t keep up with what newer GPUs need, especially when it comes to frame stability. You'd see around 60 FPS maybe, but expect dips during intense gameplay.

The Ryzen 4500 isn't really a great choice for gaming. If budget allows, go for a used Ryzen 3600 or even the 5500. The 4500 just doesn’t have the performance you want for gaming these days.

You really should upgrade your motherboard. PCIE 3.0 will hold back any modern GPU. If you opt for a B550, you can later toss in a better Ryzen chip and make your system last a while longer without needing a major overhaul.

Come on, PCIE 3.0 can totally handle most cards! It's really just the lower lane cards that struggle.
