I'm considering upgrading my old setup that has an RTX 2080 and an i7 8700k to either an RTX 5070 or a 5060 Ti. I'm aware that there might be some CPU bottlenecking, but I'm planning to upgrade the CPU within the next year. I want to know if I'll notice a significant performance boost with either of these new GPUs in the meantime. Is it advisable to invest in a new GPU now, or should I wait until I can upgrade the CPU too?

If you go for the 5060 Ti, you'll notice some improvement, but it won't be huge—think of it like the difference between a 4060 and a 4070. Instead of piecemeal upgrades, it might be better to save up and do both CPU and GPU at once when you're ready!
Check out this video that explains it all! It shows that the bottleneck can vary between 12 to 20% depending on how GPU-bound the game is. Worth a watch!
Bottlenecks can vary based on the game and your resolution settings. It's not a one-size-fits-all issue, so take that into account with your upgrade plans.
From my experience, CPU bottlenecks are usually minimal. A GPU upgrade often boosts performance significantly, typically by over 100%, and any bottleneck from the CPU is generally only around 5-10%. So, if you're looking to upgrade, I think you'll see solid improvements!
I've had a similar issue with an older CPU bottlenecking my RX 580. After I upgraded it, my frame rates doubled for the same settings!

That can really depend on the game you're playing. Like in Valorant, the RTX 2080 is already a great match for most CPUs, so you might not see any gains upgrading there.
