I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from a 3060 Ti to a 5070 Ti because my current setup struggles with my ultrawide Samsung G9 display (5120 x 1440). My concern is whether my PCIe 3.0 motherboard will hinder the 5070 Ti's performance. I know that PCIe 5.0 is backward compatible, but I'm wondering if it's wise to invest in the 5070 Ti now and then upgrade the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and SSD in a couple of years. Would I be wasting my money on the GPU if the motherboard can't utilize it, or is getting it now a smart choice? Right now, my PC handles most games well except for Witcher 3 and Star Citizen. Thanks for your advice!

It might hold you back a little, but we're talking about 1-2 FPS tops. You will definitely notice a difference jumping from the 3060 Ti to the 5070 Ti, so going for it now is worth it, even with your current setup!
No worries about getting the 5070 Ti now! Your PCIe 3.0 motherboard won’t really bottleneck it at 5120x1440; the GPU will still perform great at that res. You’ll definitely see a nice performance boost, and when you eventually upgrade the rest of your system, you’ll get even more out of your investment!
Thanks! This is what I was hoping to hear.

So jumping from 3060 Ti to 5070 Ti WILL give me a boost though?
