I bought my PC in 2020 from Best Buy, and lately, I've noticed it starting to slow down. Simple tasks like opening files or apps like Google and Spotify are taking longer than they used to. I'm thinking my PC might be aging, so I'm curious if moving Windows to a new SSD would improve its performance. Also, would upgrading to 32GB of RAM make a difference? I'm looking for ways to enhance my experience without having to invest in a new PC entirely. For reference, my CPU is an R7 5700x, my GPU is an RTX 3060, and I currently have 16GB of RAM running at 3000MHz DDR4. My boot SSD is a 256GB KINGSTON SA400S37240G.

Switching to a newer SSD can definitely help, especially if the new one is a faster model. However, I recommend troubleshooting your current setup first. Hardware doesn’t just slow down from age unless there's a bigger issue. Usually, a fresh install of Windows can do wonders for speed, possibly more than just replacing the SSD or adding RAM.
Do you know any good YouTube tutorials for resetting Windows? I'd love some guidance on that.
Upgrading to 32GB of RAM might be overkill unless you're gaming heavily or doing video editing. For most users, 16GB is still sufficient.
Your specs look solid! If your SSD is getting full, that can also slow things down. An upgrade to a larger SSD alongside a fresh install could really help.
How full is your current SSD? Keeping at least 20% free is a good practice!

Totally agree! Years of updates and software can bog a system down. A clean reinstall is often more effective than just upgrading hardware unless you get a really fast SSD.
