I'm trying to download Windows onto a flash drive to use it on my other computer, but the only device I can download from is my work laptop. I discovered the admin username and password when IT was remotely accessing my laptop. If I use this admin info, will it trigger any alerts or notifications to IT?

Yeah, using the admin password is a surefire way to get yourself in hot water. IT keeps pretty detailed logs, and they'll probably see that you used the credentials. It could lead to serious consequences, possibly even getting fired. Just steer clear of that situation! You might want to ask IT directly for their help instead.
Definitely not a smart move. They monitor all logins and actions on work devices. Even turning it on or off is logged, so using that password could lead to being fired or worse. Asking the IT department to help you is the safest bet.
Honestly, using the admin password might not usually trigger immediate alerts unless they specifically check the logs. But there’s always a chance they could investigate later. Just ask someone from IT for help instead; they'll appreciate your honesty.
Yeah, that's true. IT is usually more laid-back if you just communicate openly instead of sneaking around.

Totally agree. It’s really not worth the risk. Most IT departments track admin access closely, and you'd be better off just bringing your flash drive to them and asking nicely.
