Hey everyone, I think I might have accidentally downloaded malware. I was searching for an app to organize medicine storage and found one called PharmaUp from a sketchy site (Factose or something similar). Everything seemed fine at first, but then while browsing Facebook, a cmd window popped up saying it was starting or connecting to MySQL, and that freaked me out. I quickly turned off my PC since I'm using Windows 10 and I really hope my important Blender projects aren't at risk. Can someone help me figure out what to do?

You should definitely download Malwarebytes and run a full system scan. It's free, and it can help identify and remove any malware. Also, before you download anything in the future, it’s a good idea to use VirusTotal to check the site’s safety. Better safe than sorry!
If you have a USB, try this: go to a library or a friend's place, download Malwarebytes onto the USB, then disconnect your internet when you get back to your PC. Start your PC, plug in the USB, and run the Malwarebytes scan. Also, don't forget to run Windows antivirus separately. They can help check for any issues! If either finds something, let them remove the files and restart your PC to be safe.
What if I just download Malwarebytes from another PC on my network and transfer it via USB?
I'm really cautious about turning my PC back on. Is it safe to do so?
