Can I Selectively Transfer Photos to My New iPhone?

I'm upgrading from an iPhone 13 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max and I don't want to move over my entire photo library, especially since it goes back to when I had the iPhone 14. I'm only looking to transfer the last three years of photos. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, when transferring between iPhones, you're pretty much stuck with either transferring everything or nothing at all. If you're using a direct iPhone-to-iPhone transfer, it won't let you pick and choose. However, if you back up your photos to a computer, especially a Mac, you could easily select which photos to move over instead.

It’s not an easy process if you're looking to transfer only specific photos. What syncing method are you using for your photos currently? That might open up some options for you.

I use iCloud for my photos.
