Why Are My System Sounds So Quiet on My TEAC AI-303 via Bluetooth?

Hey everyone, I'm setting up a desktop HiFi system and currently testing out the TEAC AI-303 DAC/AMP with my setup. I'm using a Dell XPS 13 9310 running Windows 11 (which is all up to date). I successfully connected the TEAC AI-303 via Bluetooth, and while I can play music from Tidal and YouTube through my passive speakers and headphones connected to it, I'm having a big issue with system sounds. I don't hear any system sounds when I hit the 'test' button in the audio settings, even though the TEAC is set as my default device. I did install the TEAC USB drivers just in case, even though I'm connecting via Bluetooth. I haven't updated the firmware yet but plan to do that later. While writing this, I found that I do get some system sounds when music is playing, but they're extremely quiet. What's going on with this?

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with Bluetooth connections. Often, the connection may not fully activate until you start playing something, which can cause system sounds not to play right away. They might finish before the Bluetooth is ready, which is why you can only hear them when music is playing. Check your Windows volume mixer too, as there’s a separate volume level for system sounds that might be turned down.

Yeah, I noticed that the system sounds are barely audible, even with music turned down low. Like during a Teams meeting, they don’t seem to work at all – should they not work continuously?
