I'm trying to set up my new MSI X870E-P motherboard and I have a Corsair CX850M power supply. The issue is that my motherboard needs two 8-pin CPU cables, but I only have one 8-pin cable. The power supply came with PCIe Type 4 cables (6+2) and didn't include a 4+4 cable option, even though the ports on the power supply list both types. Before I connect anything and risk damaging my motherboard, I want to confirm whether the 6+2 cables will work with the 4+4 ports on the motherboard. My instinct is telling me 'no,' but I'd like to get a second opinion to avoid buying a new power supply.

You’re actually good to go with just one 4+4 cable. Most motherboards, even with two connectors, work perfectly fine with just one. Just don’t try to use those 6+2 cables for CPU power—they're not compatible, and you definitely don’t want to risk messing up your setup!
Glad to hear that! I just didn’t want to underpower my board and end up with issues later. I guess I should read up more on the latest tech!
