I built my PC about seven years ago and haven't really kept up with computer hardware, so I'm considering replacing my existing 500GB M.2 SSD with a larger 2TB SSD for more gaming space. I've also got a 2TB SATA hard drive where a lot of my games are stored, but it's been troublesome lately because my SSD is almost full. I'm looking for recommendations on a good 2TB SSD (or larger) within a budget of around $100.
I'm a bit worried about the upgrade since I'm not very knowledgeable about the technical details. I'm fine with the hardware aspect, as it seems simple enough, but I'm more concerned about the software and operating system side, especially data transfer. I don't have an external drive to store anything besides a couple of small flash drives (64GB or less). Any tips for a smooth upgrade?

You might want to think about whether you'd prefer to do a fresh Windows install or clone your existing setup to the new drive. Cloning could save all your files, which is great if you need to keep everything, but if you don’t mind starting fresh, a clean install can help with any issues stemming from the old drive.

Download Macrium Reflect for free. Connect both drives and use it to clone your boot drive. Just be careful to not mix them up! After cloning, you can adjust the partition size to utilize the full capacity of your new drive. Once everything's done, simply remove the old drive and replace it with the new M.2. Enjoy the performance boost!
