Hey everyone! I'm looking for a solution for my wife and me to communicate while gaming in the same room. We want to use one microphone so we can hear each other and chat with friends on Discord, but we're having trouble with audio feedback and delays. Any recommendations on how to set this up would be appreciated! I'm open to different setups, so feel free to share your thoughts!

To start, how close are your PCs? If you're sitting side by side, you might face challenges with audio feedback when using just one mic. You'd need an external audio interface to control the mic input, which allows you to monitor your voices. In terms of options, if you're planning to use one mic, I'd suggest getting a Shure CVB. However, for better quality and fewer issues, it’s usually best for each PC to have its own audio interface and mic. For instance, you could get a Focusrite Scarlet Solo and pair it with the Shure CVB, which would run you around $250 total. If you're looking for two setups, it’d be about $425 for two Focusrite Solos and two Shure SM58s. It's a bit more professional but worth it for the clarity and no audio crossing over!
Thanks for the detailed breakdown! I didn’t realize it would be that complicated. With two mics, are we going to run into issues like one mic picking up the other and causing delays?
