Can I Access My Photos and Videos Easily on Linux?

I'm considering switching to Linux and currently have a collection of photos and videos stored on my Windows 11 system. I've encountered a situation where some of my files require downloading HEVC Video Extensions from the Microsoft store to view them. Since Linux doesn't have a Microsoft store, will I still be able to access my photos and videos easily? What can I do to ensure I can view everything without running into compatibility issues?

Yes, you can definitely install HEVC support on Linux. Most modern Linux distros have this compatibility out of the box, especially if you use popular media players like VLC. Don't worry too much, you're going to be able to access your photos and videos just fine!

Just a heads-up, most desktop environments already include support for HEIC, so you should be good to go without any additional work.
