Ideally, it should be able to stream music from her phone, have an AM/FM radio, and also connect wirelessly to earbuds. A good option is to look for a Bluetooth speaker that offers AM/FM radio and can be paired with earbuds. You can also suggest her using a phone app that streams radio stations, which would let her connect the phone to her earbuds directly. Just keep in mind that some models might drop Bluetooth connections easily when used for prolonged periods, like I noticed with the Google speaker I tried out.
Yeah, just a heads-up, many newer phones don't have radio apps built-in since they rely on that old headphone jack for an antenna. So, connecting via earbuds this way might be tricky!
