Which Linux Distro is Best for Beginners?

I'm looking to switch to Linux, but I'm having a tough time deciding which distribution to choose since there are so many options. I'm hoping to find a distro that doesn't require me to learn a lot of commands. Also, I've heard that Linux is faster and more optimized than Windows, which I'm curious about since I have a low-end laptop with 4GB of RAM and an Intel Celeron N4020. Can anyone help me with recommendations?

You might also want to try Linux Mint with the Xfce desktop environment, MX Linux, or Lubuntu. They are known for being lightweight and user-friendly, making them perfect fits for older hardware.

I’d recommend starting with Linux Mint. It’s super beginner-friendly, and once you get comfortable, you could consider switching to Fedora later on. However, with your laptop specs, keep in mind that performance might not be stellar.

Yeah, I agree! Mint is great for newbies. But honestly, for those specs, you might struggle a bit with performance. I’ve heard good things about Puppy Linux too; supposedly it runs well on older machines.
