Hey everyone! I recently updated to iOS 26.1 and noticed that it seems like they're making Facial ID mandatory for unlocking my phone. I'm not a fan of this feature and really want to know if there's any way to opt-out of it. Has anyone figured out a solution?

You don’t have to use Facial ID unless you've turned on Stolen Device Protection. Just curious, though, what’s the reason you’d prefer not to use it?
You’ll still get prompted for your passcode sometimes, like when your face is covered or if the device has been restarted. So you aren't completely locked out.
You can navigate to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Reset Face ID, but I’m not sure that will help if it wasn't enabled before. It might not show that option if you haven’t used the feature previously.
