I'm dealing with a bizarre audio issue on Windows that's affecting my gaming experience. My system keeps detecting a non-existent headset; it flashes in and out of the device list repeatedly. While I typically wouldn't mind this, it's causing sound stutters and lag in my games. Everything was fine yesterday, but now this has started. My PC specs are an R5 5600, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, and an RX 9060 XT 16GB on a B450 Tomahawk Max II, so I doubt it's a hardware problem. I've tried disabling and removing audio devices in Device Manager and restarting Windows Audio services, but nothing has worked. I'm at my wit's end here. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try uninstalling your USB hub driver and then do a complete power cycle on your PC. Unplug everything except for your power cord, monitor, and Ethernet. Start it up, log in, and then plug in your keyboard first, followed by your mouse and headphones. Monitor if any device shows up before your headphones are connected; it could be your monitor causing the issue. If everything works, connect your additional devices one at a time to pinpoint if one of them is causing the problem.

I tried that approach by only connecting my keyboard, mouse, and monitor initially. I even disabled AMD HD Audio, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue.
