Why Do My Headphones Sound Weird During In-Game Voice Chat?

Hey everyone! I've been having an issue with my headphones when I play games that have voice chat. When I start a game, everything sounds fine, but once the voice chat kicks in, the audio becomes all echoey and distorted. Plus, the sound in the right channel just drops to zero. I've tried this with multiple headphones and the same thing happens every time. I'm using Windows 11. Any ideas on what's going on?

Just a heads up: before making any changes, make sure to back up your data. Changes in BIOS or disk settings can lead to data loss.

Are you using Bluetooth headphones by any chance? Bluetooth can sometimes cause audio issues, especially with voice chat. If so, you might want to check for any updates or try a wired connection instead.

It sounds like your headphones might be struggling with using the microphone and audio at the same time. Have you considered turning off your mic or perhaps trying a different pair of headphones? Sometimes, the hardware just can't keep up with both tasks, especially on certain setups.
