Struggling to Align Motherboard Standoffs, Any Tips?

I've been building my PC and ran into a snag on day 2—I'm having a hard time getting the motherboard to line up with the standoffs in my Montech AIR 903 Max case. When I remove the I/O shield, the motherboard lines up pretty well, but once I put the shield back on, it shifts again. I can get it almost aligned by pushing down hard on the left side near the I/O shield, but it feels risky. I really want to avoid leaving the I/O shield off, so does anyone have advice on how to get it to fit properly? I've included pictures to show the alignment issue: one without the shield and one with it.

Make sure the middle standoff where the motherboard goes is lined up. If you can get that one aligned, use a bit of pressure to get the rest as close as possible, and then tighten the screws one by one. It looks like the second pic could work; just needs a bit more fine-tuning!

The middle one pokes through fine for me too, but getting all the other standoffs aligned is tough. I can see how they get close when I push down, but there are still a few that are just off.

You might just need to apply some pressure while screwing it in. Just be careful not to overdo it; a little force should help get it lined up right without stressing the board too much.

I was worried about that too, but I read that if you screw one down firmly, the rest should align better without causing damage.

One trick is to install the I/O shield first and then push against it while securing the motherboard. Once you get the first screw in, it should hold everything in place nicely.

Just a heads up, though—some I/O shields, like the one on my MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk Wifi, are preinstalled and can definitely complicate things.
