Experiencing Frequent WiFi Drops on CachyOS

I've been having a frustrating issue with my WiFi connection on CachyOS. It keeps dropping unexpectedly, but the hardware seems fine since it works perfectly on Windows. This is making online gaming almost impossible! I'm using a MediaTek MT7921 WiFi card, which I know isn't the best choice for Linux, but I can't replace it right now. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If you can't switch to an Intel WiFi card or find a decent USB option that isn’t a Realtek or MediaTek, you're pretty limited. You might have to dive into some driver coding to try and sort it out, but that can be a real hassle.

You basically answered your own question! The MT7921 isn’t the best for Linux unfortunately. I spotted an Intel AX210 on Amazon for 17 bucks—might be worth getting a new card because, otherwise, you'll just be dealing with these issues. I have a MediaTek in my desktop too, and while it has a 'working driver', it still has problems. Thankfully, I don't use WiFi on it.

I’m thinking of going for a Powerline adapter instead of changing my WiFi card. It might solve the connectivity issues without having to deal with the hassle of replacing hardware.
