I've recently started burning CDs and I'm having trouble with a CD-R I made. I'm using Verbatim discs and burning audio CDs through Windows Media Player Legacy at the slowest speed possible. I've tried different formats like mp3, WAV, WPL, and M3U, and the CD plays fine on my TV and in my Mazda Premacy. However, when I put it in my 1st Generation Nissan Leaf, the car immediately ejects the disc without trying to read it. The CD player works with official CDs, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Could it be the type of CD-R I'm using that makes it unreadable in my Nissan Leaf? Any tips would be appreciated!

Some car CD players just aren’t very compatible with burnt discs, so it might not be your fault. Have you tried using different brands of CD-R? Verbatim is usually reliable, but switching it up might help. Also, does your car have Bluetooth? You could just stream your music from your phone instead!
I've had similar issues with my car—it would only play original CDs or specific types of Gold CDs like Kodak or Sony "For Audio". You might want to experiment with those kinds of CDs if you can find them!
Older versions of iTunes can burn audio CDs too, so that might be another option if you’re stuck. Just make sure you select the correct settings for an audio burn instead of a data burn. Good luck!
If you’re burning an Audio CD, the format of the files doesn’t really matter because they get converted to PCM anyway. Just check if you see tracks listed when you open the burned CD on your PC (like "track 01, track 02"). If it does, that’s good! But if not, you might be burning it incorrectly. I’d recommend looking into your car’s manual, too, to see if it might be picky about formats.
Double-check that you are burning it as an audio CD and not as a data disc with MP3s. An audio CD needs to have uncompressed audio format to meet the player’s requirements. It can be a bit tricky, but make sure your burning setup is correct. And if it supports MP3s, ensure you're using the right format as per your car manual!
