I'm currently venturing into creating websites that sell memberships for various interest groups in the US. In my first attempt, I faced a lot of challenges while trying to integrate Zelle as a payment gateway—it required me to use three different WordPress plugins. In contrast, integrating payment methods like PayPal or Stripe would have only needed one. Given this hassle, I'm wondering about the probability that I'll need to integrate Zelle for future projects. For those of you developing for US audiences, how likely is it that Zelle will be requested as a payment option? If you've had any experience with Zelle integration, what insights can you share?

From my experience, Zelle isn't commonly featured as a payment option for online shopping. I generally avoid businesses that only offer Zelle. Credit cards provide better security and recourse if something goes wrong, so I would see Zelle as a red flag.

Oh wow...good thing I asked here. I didn't anticipate hearing such scathing reviews of Zelle. Originally, I heard Zelle was made for quick cash transfers between friends. Would you trust it for that, or is the lack of support enough to make you avoid it altogether?
