How do I know if my iPhone has viruses after clicking a suspicious link?

I clicked on a link for an anime website and it redirected me to a porn site. Suddenly, my screen went white and a pop-up claimed I have 19 viruses, urging me to install a safety app. I clicked install, not knowing what I was doing. If my parents find out I have viruses, I'm going to be in big trouble! Can anyone help me figure this out?

It's pretty tough to actually get a virus on an iPhone. You might not have anything to worry about. Just remember to avoid clicking on random pop-ups in your browser in the future.

Who knows what you might have installed! If it were me, I'd just erase the phone and start fresh. Seriously, don’t install random stuff anymore.

If you're worried about malware, the safest bet is to factory reset your iPhone. You can look up instructions online, but basically, you go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. Also, steer clear of those sketchy anime sites and don't click on random ads anymore!

Sounds like you might be dealing with a browser hijack in Safari. I’d recommend clearing all your history and website data to be safe.

It's hard to diagnose viruses on iPhones since they're usually pretty secure. But if you feel uneasy, maybe run a quick health check using a trusted app or just keep an eye on any weird behavior.
