Why is my site missing from Bing search results after migrating to Next.js?

I've recently migrated my site from plain HTML to Next.js. While the site used to show up on Bing, now it seems to have completely disappeared after the migration, even though it still ranks well on Google. The content on my site is mostly hardcoded HTML, with just a couple of sections that are server-driven. Although Bing Webmaster Tools indicates that everything is fine—indexed, crawl allowed, and sitemap submitted—I'm unable to locate my site on Bing search results even after checking multiple pages. I've noticed odd behavior where searching for the parent organization shows the child organization on Google, but only the parent organization appears on Bing. I'm puzzled by what's going wrong on Bing's end. Any advice on how to resolve this?

You might want to check out Bing's IndexNow feature. It allows you to submit your pages directly to Bing, which can help get them indexed faster! Give it a shot at https://www.bing.com/indexnow.

It's frustrating, isn't it? I suggest removing your sitemap and resubmitting it through Bing Webmaster Tools, and also include it in your robots.txt file to help crawlers find it. Using an SEO audit tool, like AHREFS, can point you toward any structural issues you might need to fix.

I heard Bing can be somewhat unpredictable with indexing after migrations. If the problem still persists, consider checking if your site is seen as a duplicate of the parent domain or if there are any 301 redirects that weren't properly set up.

Bing's algorithm can be pretty quirky at times. It sounds like an issue related to how Next.js is rendering your pages. You might need to ensure that the content is being generated correctly, as Bing can struggle with client-side rendered content. Try doing an inspect URL in Bing Webmaster Tools to see how your pages appear to them. Also, make sure your robots.txt didn't change during the migration.

I had a similar issue with a Next.js site! Bing can be finicky about streamed HTML and thin initial HTML, so ensure your key pages are fully rendered before hydration. Disabling streaming for those pages may help Bing index them properly. It's also worthwhile to check for toxic backlinks, as they can affect your visibility on Bing.
