Looking to Upgrade My CPU: What Are My Options?

I'm considering a CPU upgrade since I suspect my current CPU is bottlenecking my GPU performance. Here are my specs:
- GPU: GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores, 3.7GHz)
- Motherboard: TUF Gaming B550M Plus
- Power Supply: EVGA 650W Gold
- RAM: Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z DDR4 (3200MHz)

Would upgrading be beneficial, and if so, what CPU should I consider?

I really doubt the 5600X is bottlenecking your RTX 3070 Ti unless you're gaming at a super low resolution like 720p. If you're looking for an upgrade, those used 5800 or 5700X3D CPUs would be excellent, especially for your motherboard. They're top performers! Also, I saw that the 5800XT is going for around $199 right now at Newegg with a promo.

Yeah, I saw that too! Good deals are rare these days.

Honestly, it’s not your CPU that’s causing the issues. If you're experiencing trouble, you might want to troubleshoot your entire setup instead. The 5600X should be just fine for gaming with your GPU.

Are you sure your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU? That feels unlikely unless you're playing specific esports titles where CPU matters more. I'd suggest checking around your system before jumping to conclusions.

If you're considering going AM5, keep in mind that it means a whole new setup with a new motherboard and RAM, which can get pretty pricey. Honestly, it might be better to stick with your current configuration for now and save up for a more significant upgrade down the line.

You've limited options on the AM4 socket now. The 8-core Zen 3 CPUs will give you a bump in performance, mostly for applications that can use multiple cores. That said, the 5600X is still pretty capable for most gaming.
