I have a quick question: When you close your AWS account, does the Web Application Firewall (WAF) get deleted along with it? I set up my account last month just to experiment with some things for a personal project, but I haven't used it since then. I received an email today about a small charge of $6, and while it's not much, I want to prevent any future charges. I checked the WAF rules but couldn't find any information, so I went ahead and closed my account to avoid more fees since I'm no longer using AWS. I've also reached out to support and am waiting for their response. I've heard some negative stories about unexpected charges and slow support, which is why I'm asking. I've lost access to all tabs except for support and billing now, so if anyone has any tips, I'd really appreciate it!

Just to clarify, when you close your AWS account, it can take some time before everything gets fully deleted. The data and configurations, like your WAF settings, won't disappear immediately. The best practice is usually to clean everything out before closing the account to avoid any charges. I'd recommend just double-checking your settings for peace of mind!
You might also want to check out this tool: https://github.com/rebuy-de/aws-nuke. It can help to clear out resources automatically, which might save you some headaches before closing your account.
Thanks for the info! I actually heard back from support, and they informed me that I won’t incur any charges 24 hours after requesting to close the account.
