I'm currently taking some web development classes that recommend using a WYSIWYG editor for HTML. I'm on Pop_OS 24.04 LTS and switching between Cosmic and XFCE desktop environments. I'm on the lookout for any free options that are straightforward—just a simple editor without fancy AI features or anything. If there's anything else I need to specify, just let me know!

VSCode is pretty nice overall! I agree, it's a good choice for general development besides just HTML.

Have you tried Webkitty? It's free and works well. You can grab it from their GitHub page. It's available as a .appimage for Linux, which makes it easy to run!

If you're not too picky, you could use VSCode with the 'Live Server' extension. It’s perfect for simple HTML needs and updates your changes in real-time in the browser as you save your work.
