Best Microphone for Gaming Without Background Noise?

I'm on the hunt for a microphone that works great for gaming and voice chat. Right now, I'm using a FIFINE USB/XLR dynamic mic, but I've noticed a significant issue: it picks up my husband's voice since we both use the same mic and sit close together. We've tried adjusting the gain and repositioning the mics, but it hasn't resolved the problem when we're both talking or gaming at the same time.

Here's what I'm looking for in a new mic:
- Excellent voice isolation that doesn't pick up his audio
- Suitable for gaming, Discord, and streaming
- Ideally it should be USB (but I'm willing to consider XLR if it offers a major improvement)
- Budget is around $100 to $250, but I'm flexible if there's a substantial upgrade available.

Has anyone experienced this issue, and do you have any mic or setup recommendations that actually help reduce nearby sound? Thanks!

I used a Fifine mic too, and it was a bit noisy. I recently switched to the Rode Podmic USB, and I’m really happy with it! It's around $200 and built tough. Keep in mind it doesn’t include a stand, so you’ll need a boom arm, and the adjustments are done through the Rode app. These quirks didn’t bother me much, but might be something to consider.

If you're willing to invest a bit more, Shure mics are excellent. The Shure MV6 USB is about $170, while the MV7 USB runs around $300. I've had the MV7 for a few years now, and it’s been rock solid. If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, consider using NVIDIA Broadcast to further enhance your audio quality. It’s a game changer for background noise reduction!

I don’t have an NVIDIA setup, though. Any alternatives or similar features for AMD users?

For your situation, I'd recommend looking for a cardioid or hypercardioid microphone. These types of mics are specifically designed to pick up sound predominantly from the person directly speaking into them, which should help isolate your voice better. The cheaper options might not perform as well as the premium ones, but they'll probably still be an improvement from what you currently have.
