Hey everyone, I'm trying to install the Realtek audio driver, but I'm running into a frustrating issue. Whenever I install the drivers, they delete the previous ones and restart my computer. However, when it restarts, Windows automatically installs older drivers, and this keeps repeating. The problem is that with these Windows drivers, the mic picks up audio from my earphones and just repeats the sound at the same level as the output, which is super annoying. I recently reset Windows, and it worked fine before that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a step-by-step approach that might help: 1. To stop Windows from auto-installing drivers, hit Win + R, type 'sysdm.cpl', and then press Enter. Go to the Hardware tab and click on Device Installation Settings. Choose "No (your device might not work as expected)" and save. 2. Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to clean uninstall all audio drivers. Boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, and remove every audio driver completely. 3. After rebooting normally, download the correct Realtek driver from your device manufacturer's site (not just Realtek) and install it before connecting to the internet. 4. If your mic is still repeating audio, go to the Sound Settings, find your microphone under the Recording tab, and make sure to uncheck "Listen to this device." Also, check the Levels tab for Stereo Mix and turn it down if it's there.
You might also want to check your sound card settings and make sure there are no additional enhancements or effects enabled that could cause this issue.
First, try uninstalling the driver from Device Manager and make sure to select the option to delete the driver files from the system. When it prompts you to restart, don't restart just yet! Instead, go ahead and install the Realtek driver right after deleting it.
Thanks for these steps! I tried them, and most worked great, but I'm still dealing with the mic repeating audio. Any other ideas? I know it's not hardware since it worked fine before.
