Hey everyone! I recently installed a more powerful power supply in my computer, and when I switched it on, I heard a pop sound. The PC booted up, and I could log in, but then it suddenly shut down. Now, the only lights that come on are from the RAM, and pressing the power button doesn't do anything. What could have gone wrong?

It sounds like there might be a few issues at play here. The power supply unit (PSU) could have been faulty from the start, or perhaps a cable isn’t connected properly. If you re-used cables from your old PSU instead of the new ones, that could also be a problem. You should check your motherboard for any burnt capacitors because if those are damaged, your motherboard might be done for. Inspect the connections for any signs of burning or melting. If you can, try exchanging the PSU for a different one to see if that resolves the issue. Good luck!
What wattage is the new power supply? Knowing that might help diagnose if it's an issue with power distribution.
Have you tried using a different keyboard? Sometimes, a USB keyboard can cause issues like this. It might be worth switching it out or plugging it into a different USB port to see if that helps.
