I'm curious if I can take some of my empty DVD-R discs and burn MP3 music files onto them. I want to keep it simple—just one album or playlist per disc. I'm not too concerned about sound quality either. Can I just create a folder with the MP3 files using a program like ImgBurn? Will most DVD players be able to play them? Do I need to name the folder in a specific way? Also, if MP3s aren't compatible, is there a different format I should convert to?

Most DVD players actually can handle MP3 files, but it really depends on the model you have. Some players will play them without any issues, while others might not support them at all, especially older models. It's a mixed bag, to be honest. If you're using ImgBurn, just make sure to use the proper settings for burning music. Also, there's no need to name the folder anything specific—keep it simple!
If you want a disc that's readable by virtually any player, go for burning an 'Audio CD' format instead of just data. Your burning software should have this option, and it'll ensure most players can utilize it without issues.
Totally agree with this—I've made the mistake of just burning MP3s before, and a lot of my friends' players wouldn't even touch them!
It really depends on the make and model of your DVD player. Some support burning discs that include MP3s, while others may not recognize them. If you're unsure, check the user manual or look online for your player model to see its specs!
Yeah, I've had success with my player and MP3s, but I know some folks who've hit snags with theirs. Best to check your player specs!
