Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a computer for video editing and 3D animations, but I also want to play some games on it now and then. I'm considering using an RTX 5080, a Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor, and 64 GB of RAM. Any suggestions or advice on components or configurations would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I wouldn’t change much from what you’ve already picked; that’s an incredible workstation! If anything, consider downgrading to the 5070 Ti since the 5080 is about 33% more expensive for just a 15% performance boost. However, if this PC is a money-making machine for you, the 5080 is worth it. Also, check out other comments for more ideas!

Definitely make sure your motherboard supports the AM5 socket! Also, go for DDR5 RAM with AMD EXPO support. A power supply of at least 1000 watts, ideally Gold certified, is a must. And remember to touch metal before handling your components to avoid static discharge. Oh, and skip League of Legends if you plan to have fun gaming!

For video editing, even the 265K beats the 9950X, so you might want to consider Arrow Lake since it fits a 5090 in your budget!

It would help to know what specific applications you plan to use. Think about your connectivity needs, storage preferences, and overall performance requirements too! Your post could be a bit more specific for better recommendations.
