I'm planning to get my 12-year-old nephew a gaming PC for Christmas. It's been a long time since I built a PC (20 years!), and I mostly use laptops, so I'm a bit out of the loop on what's currently available. I told him he needs to do some research and pick out the parts himself, and he came back with a list that I've adjusted slightly with some better options. His budget is around $2,000 to $2,500, and while he's not playing super demanding games right now, he does enjoy titles like Fortnite and Roblox. I'm wanting to make sure this PC can last him a few years without needing upgrades. Also, I prefer brands that are known for good customer service and warranty support. What do you think? Any suggestions for changes?

You sound like an awesome uncle! If budget isn't an issue, the system he's looking at should be great, though it might be a bit much for a kid just playing casual games. Don't forget to consider a good monitor as well to match the setup!

He already has a monitor and mouse, so I assume those are sorted. It's definitely a bit over the top, but I really want him to have something nice—better than what I had!
