Hey everyone! I'm on the lookout for a new PC setup with a budget of around $2000-$2500 USD. I'm mainly using it for video editing with programs like Premiere Pro and After Effects (mostly at 1080p60), as well as streaming and gaming. I'll be playing AAA titles like Cyberpunk and also enjoying some low-performance games like Minecraft and CS2 on an ultrawide 1440p monitor at 160Hz.
Currently, I'm upgrading from an older Alienware PC that has a Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon 5700 XT, and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. However, that RAM is running at 2133 MHz due to compatibility issues, which is frustrating. My 5700 XT has given me quite a few headaches with driver crashes and performance in OBS and Premiere Pro, which is why I'm leaning towards an Nvidia card this time around.
I'm not in a hurry to make the purchase, so any advice on components for a solid performance in both gaming and video editing would be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on how much more time you'll spend gaming compared to editing. If gaming is your main focus, the Ryzen 9 9800X3D would be a good choice. However, if video editing takes precedence, then the Ryzen 9 9950X will give you better performance. Here’s a build idea that keeps you under budget and packs a punch!
I’ve had similar issues with AMD cards, so I’d advise sticking with Nvidia for your video editing needs, especially with OBS. From my experience, they have much more stable drivers for professional work and better encoding for streaming and recording. I’m currently looking to upgrade my GPU after dealing with constant crashes too.
Totally get you! My RX 5700 XT was great for gaming, but a nightmare for anything productivity-based. It seems like the drivers are a huge drawback for AMD. Definitely a good idea to consider sticking with Nvidia if that's where you're leaning.
Have you considered other power supply options besides the SF series? There are plenty of solid alternatives that start at around $130 which might give you more flexibility in your build without breaking the bank.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I’ll lean more towards the 9950X since editing is going to be my top priority, especially for the performance boost.
