I recently did a factory reset on my PC to refresh everything, but now all my games are experiencing severe lag. I've been playing a game on the same server for two years and usually have a solid ping of 55. Since the reset, my ping is all over the place, spiking between 65 and 180. I'm wondering if I forgot to install something post-reset. Speed tests show normal results, and my AMD drivers and software are up to date. Any advice? I have a week off school and want to relax and game!

Have you tried resetting your network settings? You can do this by running a few commands in Powershell as an admin. Just type these commands one by one: **Netsh winsock reset**, **Netsh int ip reset**, and **Ipconfig /flushdns**. After you do that, restart your PC and see if the lag improves. It resets your network settings back to their original state.
Sounds like you're having a frustrating issue! The built-in reset tool can indeed cause problems. Many folks suggest instead doing a clean install of Windows to avoid these kinds of issues. It’s definitely more effort, but it can help ensure everything is set up correctly from the get-go. Good luck!
What does a clean install involve? Just curious!
I tried that, but it didn’t fix anything. My speed tests still come back normal, though. Very confusing!
