Am I at risk after visiting a site with just an IP address?

I recently clicked on a link with an IP address that leads to a site I thought was Warmane's armory for World of Warcraft. Now I'm really worried I might have been hacked. Is this site safe? Should I do a clean restart of my PC? What actions should I take?

Visiting a site through an IP address isn't uncommon, and it’s not necessarily dangerous. Although it's a bit unusual, it doesn't mean you're at risk. Just make sure that you aren't entering sensitive information since the site isn't using SSL encryption.

You can't get malware just from visiting a website. If you're using an updated browser like Chrome and have an up-to-date operating system, you're likely safe. If you're feeling anxious, restarting your router and running an antivirus scan can help ease your mind.

I used Firefox with Windows 11 and ran a Defender scan; it didn't find anything, so I guess I'm okay?
