Hello, I'm a sysadmin who has been assigned to deploy an Azure Stack HCI cluster. We chose a certified HPE DL380 Gen 11, but the installation process has been incredibly challenging. After collaborating with HPE engineers for several months, we finally got to the point of installing virtual machines. However, we're experiencing random packet drops within the cluster itself. Out of every 250-300 pings, we're seeing about 5-10% loss, which is problematic, especially for our MSMQ applications that can't handle even a single packet drop without freaking out. We've triple-checked all switch configurations with HPE and verified the OS settings, but right now, we're stuck playing ping pong between HPE and Microsoft support with little progress. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What type of switches are you using for your cluster? Are they dedicated just for your HCI setup or are they shared with other systems? I've seen different outcomes in similar setups depending on the switch architecture. Would love to help if I can!
I feel your pain! Packet loss can be tricky to diagnose. Have you checked if the switches are handling the traffic properly? Sometimes, issues can stem from misconfigurations or even firmware discrepancies. It might be worthwhile to look into network traffic patterns during the drops too. Good luck!
