I'm considering making the switch to Zorin from Windows 11, but I've heard that Nvidia GPUs have issues on Linux. Is this still a valid concern? I have a 4080 Super, and I'm not sure if the type of card matters. Any insights would be appreciated!

I wouldn't recommend Ubuntu if you're new. Linux Mint is more user-friendly, especially for those transitioning from Windows. Zorin looks similar to Windows, which is nice, but if updates are a concern, Mint could be worth a shot!

If you're looking for an easier gaming setup, CachyOS might be the way to go. It detects your GPU automatically during the live installer, which can save a lot of hassle.

I've personally had some trouble with Nvidia on Fedora. The driver is easy to install, but certain games wouldn't run on the correct GPU. I had to adjust some environment variables just to get it working right.

Honestly, modern Nvidia cards don't face too many issues. While some setups might perform better than others, I've had a pretty smooth experience with my Nvidia card. Just make sure to choose a distro that supports your hardware well.

From what I've seen, some specific model and driver combinations might yield lower FPS compared to AMD cards. But overall, most users with Nvidia GPUs report decent performance on modern distributions.
