I'm helping a friend who wants to build a gaming PC and has a budget of $600-$800. He needs something that can handle at least 120 frames per second while playing games. Also, he already owns a 1080p monitor and doesn't have any PC parts yet. Any suggestions for a good build or pre-built option?

Here's another great option! Based on my setup, you can go for the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 with a PowerColor Reaper RX 9060 XT. The full build comes to about $789. It includes 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD, which is more than enough for gaming and other tasks. This should easily keep up above that 120 FPS mark at 1080p while staying within your budget!
For a solid build under $800, I recommend going with an Intel i5-12600K along with a Radeon RX 9060 XT. It should fit right within your friend's budget and deliver excellent performance for 1080p gaming at 120+ FPS. There's a combo deal on Newegg that might help save a bit too. If you can stretch your budget by $30, consider the i5-14600K which offers even better value with some games included! Check out this part list I made on PCPartPicker for more details.
How many frames per second can we expect with this setup?
