I'm looking for suggestions for a lightweight Linux operating system for my Acer Aspire A311-45 laptop. My CPU is an Intel Celeron N4500 and I have 8 GB of RAM with a 256 GB SSD. Although I'm currently running Zorin OS 18 Core, it feels a bit too heavy for my hardware. My usage mainly consists of web browsing, document editing, watching videos, and basic daily tasks. I'm aiming for a system that has low resource usage, good stability, and a simple, clean desktop experience. I'm open to any distribution or desktop environment like XFCE, LXQt, or MATE. Thanks for any recommendations!

You should definitely consider using Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop for a balance of simplicity and performance. I ran it on my N4500 with 4GB of RAM, and it worked just fine, so it should be even better with your setup!
Debian with XFCE is running quite well on my setup with comparable specs but only 6GB of RAM. If you're looking for something lightweight, it's a solid option.
I've had a good experience with Linux Lite on Intel N4000 systems, but I upgraded to Mint XFCE recently, and it runs smoothly with 8GB of RAM and an SSD. You might want to give it a try! Also, there's this great resource [here](https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/1.html?m=1) for beginners that could help you out.
I've had success with Mint Cinnamon on my N4500 with 4GB RAM. It handled everything smoothly - I say give it a shot, especially since your laptop has more RAM. If you're open to lighter distros, they can also work if you reduce your expectations a bit.
Consider LXQt on Debian or MATE on Ubuntu. Those should run well on your hardware!

That's true! Any distro can be fine as long as you keep it well-maintained. Mint XFCE is a great choice, though!
