I'm trying to set up Linux, preferably Batocera, on my HP EliteDesk 705 G4 with a Ryzen 2400G processor. Currently, it's free of any operating system and has a 128GB SSD. I'm considering using an external SSD. I'm facing a few dilemmas:
1. Is it possible to use Windows as the main OS and have Linux on the external drive? Should I install Windows first or Linux?
2. What's the best drive type for booting: hard drive, USB stick, or SSD? I've heard that SSDs might not be recognized as easily as USB sticks—any truth to that?
3. Is PCSX2 a good option on Batocera or Linux? I plan to scale games to 720p.

For your setup, it's fine to install either OS first, just make sure to select the right drive when installing. An internal SSD will be the fastest for booting; they're generally recognized by Linux and Batocera without issues, but you might need to disable RAID in the BIOS.

Thanks for the info! By the way, does it matter whether I run Linux or Windows on the internal SSD? Are there benefits to one over the other?
