Budget PC Build for Home Networking Lab

Hey everyone! I'm a Network Engineer trying to put together a PC for home labbing, primarily using simulation software like GNS3 and EVE-NG. I also want to run VMs with a type-2 hypervisor and experiment with programming, Ansible, and containers.

I'm on a tight budget and hoping to keep it around 400€. I'm specifically looking for 64GB of DDR4 RAM, but the motherboard should support up to 128GB for future upgrades. I need a decent CPU that can handle these tasks, but I don't need a high-end GPU — something integrated or a very cheap one will do. For storage, a 512GB SSD should be enough. Any suggestions on what parts I can get?

With your budget, it might be a bit challenging. You’ll likely need to look at mostly used components, as new ones can exceed your price range. It's tough to recommend specifics without knowing your local market, but keep in mind that deals vary widely.

You might want to consider the Asus TUF B650 motherboard along with a Ryzen 5 8600G. You could also find a budget-friendly 64GB DDR5 and an NVMe SSD for around 40€. It could fit in your budget if you shop around!
