Hey everyone! I'm currently living in Poland and I'm planning to buy the new iPhone 17 Pro while I'm in Las Vegas this January. I've noticed that the price of the iPhone here is around 1,600 USD due to taxes, while in the U.S. it's only about 1,099 USD. I'm also interested in trading in my iPhone 15 at the Apple Store. My main questions are: Will Apple in the U.S. accept my European iPhone for the trade-in? And what do I need to know about bringing the iPhone back to the EU, especially regarding customs and the duty-free allowance for electronics (which is around 430€)? Thanks for any help!

First off, double-check that your cell service supports eSIM, since all iPhones in the U.S. are eSIM only. When you visit the Apple Store for the trade-in, they’ll take any phone, as long as it’s not from mainland China. Just make sure you don’t trade in your phone and then find out you can't activate the new one right away, especially if your bank card gets frozen and requires text verifications. Good luck, and enjoy your new phone!
Thank you! I've been using eSIM for a while, so I think I'll be good on that front.
