Can College WiFi Monitor My Internet Activity if I Use My Laptop as a Hotspot?

I'm curious about the privacy of my internet usage at college. My college has my MAC address, and I'm wondering if they can monitor the websites I visit if I connect my laptop to their WiFi and then use that laptop to create a hotspot for my phone. Specifically, I'd like to use Netflix and want to know if my college can track that.

Yes, they can monitor traffic from any device connected to their network. If you use a VPN, it can help mask your traffic, but in some cases, they may still identify your device if they're really determined. It all depends on how their network is set up and how closely they watch things.

Aw, that sucks man. Do they see that I'm sharing the wifi to another device or can they also monitor that I'm using Netflix on my phone?
