Can Discord Videos Give You a Virus?

I've been feeling a bit paranoid about watching videos on Discord. Some videos show a tag while others don't, and I'm worried that if I play a video, someone might be able to access my files or accounts. Is it safe, or should I be concerned?

If something seems off, it's better to be cautious. Don't download any video files you find suspicious. Just streaming the video should be safe, but if you’re worried, it might be best to skip it altogether.

I totally get your concern! Just remember, if a video looks sketchy and you don’t feel secure about where it’s coming from, it’s okay to avoid it. Better to be safe than sorry!

Discord operates kind of like a website. Typically, just playing a video should be fine without risk. However, if you accidentally download something while clicking around, that could be a different story. Always be cautious!
